2026 SPARC National Conference

David began his career in education as an instructor, then Director, at Explo and later was on the faculty at Milton Academy and Northfield Mount Hermon School. For the last 23 of his 36 year career, he led The Brooklin School and Breakwater Learning, the latter being an educational non-profit with an independent day school and the largest youth enrichment center of its kind in Maine. David served as Chair of the Commission for Independent Schools with NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) and has done extensive accreditation work. He is interested in leadership, “strategic planning”, and generally why organizations exist and how they function. Recently he transitioned to be a full-time Senior Advisor of the SPARC team and is really happy to get back to where his career began–in summer and auxiliary!
